TURMERIC CHAI TEA
This nourishing and grounding blend is based on haldi ka doodh, or golden milk. This ancient Ayurvedic drink has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties and supports the mind and body.
Historically, golden milk has been used to aid digestion, boost the immune system, promote healthy skin and as a relaxing drink for a good night’s sleep.
You can drink this alone (caffeine free) or brew with black tea.
It also makes a wonderful base for golden milk or a turmeric latte.
Brewing Instructions: Simmer 1 – 2 tablespoons of tea in 8 ounces of water for 20 – 30 minutes. Strain and add honey or other sweetener if desired.
Optional: At the end of the brew time, add 1 teaspoon loose or 1 – 2 bags of black tea and steep for an additional 3 – 5 minutes and strain.
Golden Milk or Turmeric Latte: Brew as directed. After straining, add an equal amount of milk or milk substitute of your choice (nut, coconut or rice). You can also add a teaspoon of ghee or coconut oil. Serve warm.
Tip: A fine wire mesh strainer works well and can be used with a glass pyrex measuring cup for easier pouring and storage when making large batches.
Organic Ingredients: Curcuma longa (Turmeric), Elettaria cardamomum (Cardamom), Cinnamomum verum (Cinnamon), Zingiber officinale (Ginger root), Syzygium aromaticum (Clove), Piper nigrum (Black peppercorn)
